Guided Academy Tours
We are delighted to be able to invite the Weald community: academy neighbours, community groups, local businesses, parents and prospective parents to come and explore our new 21st century building and see all that we are doing to enable students to achieve their personal best.
The new academy building is now one of the most state of the art learning environments in the area and boasts 69 climate controlled classrooms and offices, which includes eight science laboratories, three art rooms, five ICT suites and the purpose built drama studio.
Starting from Friday 6 December 2019, Mrs Lisa Barker will lead a guided tour every Friday morning from 10am to 11am for guests to explore the academy whilst in session.
The weekly guided tours provide a great opportunity to speak to the Head of School and find out more about student life at The High Weald Academy.
We look forward to warmly welcoming you soon.

Meet the Head of School
“We are extremely proud to be an all ability community school. The new building has secured a quality learning environment for our students at the academy now and for generations of local children to come. I believe the new school has created a platform for us to build and strengthen our relationship with the community, which is key to moving the academy forward and ensuring our students leave prepared for their lives ahead.
"I look forward to warmly welcoming you soon and sharing with you what is happening at the academy now and in the future.”

Evelyn - Year 10
“The school is so much bigger, it’s completely different to the old school. All our lessons have changed, but in a good way. For example in science we are doing more practical experiments. Every day there seems to be a new opportunity to do something new.”
Three words Evelyn used to describe The High Weald Academy: Exciting, Friendly and Encouraging
Lucy - Year 10
“What I like most about the school is how modern and spacious it is with different areas we now have access to. Outside we have a large dining area and indoors we have the ‘Atrium Space’ area, this is for both students and teachers; it’s somewhere you can work or have a quiet conversation.”
Three words Lucy used to describe The High Weald Academy: Fun, Diverse and Friendly
Aidan - Year 7
“I enjoy coming to the new school, everything is just better. Better equipment, better classrooms and in science we do more practical’s and better experiments. We have more space, everything is nice and new, we have everything we need.”
Three words Aidan used to describe The High Weald Academy: Fun, Friendly and Inspiring
