Young Farmers win over 30 rosettes at Kent Show

July means Kent Show time again and a team of the academy's animals and Young Farmers attended for all three days.

This event is against other bigger schools and open Young Farmers Clubs from all over Kent.   It is highly competitive and very different from any other show that we attend.

Our eight cattle, six lambs, four pigs and eleven students were a credit to the school and themselves, winning over 30 rosettes including firsts, reserve champions and a champion.

One of the highlights was Countryfile filming at the event and some of our students were in the bale rolling competition with them.  Check it out by watching Countryfile on BBC1, Sunday 26 July!

The team included 3 Year 7 students who have not been before but all said they enjoyed the experience.   Everyone has come back with ideas to make it even better next year.

A huge thank you must be given to all the parents, farm supporters and staff who help with this even because we wouldn’t be able to do it without their support.

The next and final Summer Show is the Edenbridge and Oxted Show held in August – the preparations are already under way.
