Lambing Success at the High Weald Academy Farm
High Weald Academy Farm was buzzing with activity at the weekend, with over two and a half thousand visitors this was the biggest lambing weekend ever seen at High Weald.
The new born lambs, piglets and tiny chicks along with the calfs and goats were a sensation. Huge thanks goes to Nick Cooper, Farm Manager, the Young Farmers Team and parents who worked extremely hard all weekend to make sure this was a complete success. At the end of day one we were needing to bake more cakes for day two it had been so popular! The games and activities were also a hit. This annual event in our calendar helps to raise funds to keep the farm going and enable it to run as a commercial operation and an important curriculum resource.
Thank you to everyone who contributed so much. We now have a number of school and nursery groups booked in for visits and we welcome groups on our farm at any time. Please contact the school if you are interested in planning a visit (click here).
