New Build Confirmed for The High Weald Academy

A state-of-the-art new building is confirmed, to transform the learning environment for High Weald Academy students!

We are excited to announce that The High Weald Academy is one of four schools in our region to receive government investment in our school buildings through the Priority Schools Building Programme.

The High Weald Academy continues to go from strength to strength and we see the investment of millions of pounds in a new school building as yet another step forward for the school. The project will deliver a new building with state of the art specialist science facilities, a suite of art rooms, a dance studio, library, IT rooms and numerous general purpose classrooms along with new dining facilities. This will provide a fantastic working environment for our students and staff. The project will also see the demolition of those buildings no longer required and their replacement with landscaping to further enhance our whole site.

We expect the announcement of the successful contractor during the week of 24th July and the timescale for the project will see contractors on site at the end of 2017 and will result in us taking possession of the new building by September 2019.

Students, governors and academy staff are actively involved in the project and we will ensure that parents are regularly informed of developments as we move towards a new era for the academy.
