Huge Turnout for High Weald Academy Farm Lambing Weekend
Despite the cold weather, over two thousand people came to visit during our annual Lambing Weekend 2018.
The following report was written by Freya Murphy, a pupil at Lamberhurst St Mary’s Primary School who came and visited our Lambing Weekend and let us know how she found the experience. Thanks Freya!
We went to the High Weald lambing weekend on 17th March, and despite the cold weather, I had a really good time! We were given an activity sheet where we had to find all the sheep pictures, but we had loads of time to see all the real animals too! My favourite part was holding the chick, and I also liked the (massive) horse called George and stroking the white, fluffy rabbit.
Next, we went to the stall and bought a cake, there was a classroom open so we went and sat down. In there was a good selection of games, a tombola, raffle and a game they call splat that rat! After we had eaten our cakes, we went back to see more animals and finish our activity sheet (it took a long time to find number five!). There were lots of lambs in the barn for us to see and they had a deep layer of straw to keep them warm.
Overall, I thought the animals were cute, the lambs were great and I can’t wait to go back next year!
